Re: GAYP 2014 WCM
Richard, thanks for the info. That clarifies things a lot. I think we're all disappointed the final games were not played out, in what was a truely exciting match. I guess Ron needs to pay more attention to detail, both on and off the board!

Re: GAYP 2014 WCM
I've just caught up with the situation in Italy. This is truely shocking behaviour from Ron. Personally Its impossible for me to believe that Ron only discovered he had a flight issue when he went a game down on day 5. Even more shocking is the fact that he failed to inform his opponent or the refer...

Re: Death of Charlie Devlin.Hughs Father
I just took a minute to check in to see how my friend Sergio was doing. Thank you for your comments. My father was the person who introduced me to the game of draughts / checkers and whom was a huge influence in me developing that interest. He took me with him when he went to play in tournaments and...

Re: Irish Open 2013
Ingo, Many thanks and great job.
Congratulations to Myles Hannigan on his election as the new IDA President. A positive move. Also a bit of history - the first player from Northern Ireland to be elected President of the IDA.

Re: Ratings
Ales wrote "In order to keep high rating you have to play in small number high caliber events". Alex, I've heard this before and this is simply not true. Such statements explain nothing. You only have to look at Lubabulo Kondlo's rating as proof to the contrary. He has only played in a sma...

Re: Ratings
Thanks to all involved. There is something more eyecatching than a "B" player in the top 4. Just look at the ratings .... There was a time when there were many "Grandmaster" players (5-6) rated at 2500+. I remember Tinsley rated at 2700+ According to these current ratings Tinsley...

Re: Northern Ireland Open 2013
Hi John, Yes, good tournament. Shane Mc Cosker & Garret Owens unable to play this year. 12 entrants in the Masters event and I think there's about 10 in the second section. Sean Mc Elkenny only played 2 rounds in Masters then withdrew (maybe this had to do with forfeiting a game to me when his c...
