Yesterday at the local library book sale i bought "Play winning checkers " by W.F. Ryan i never knew this book existed.

Richard Beckwith did a great job in posting a treasurer report in the April ACF Bulletin one of the few i have seen over the past 50 years.What would be nice now is a income statement showing revenue and expenses so that members could see where and how their money is being spent!

are some rounds only 1 game?

Without taking sides in the coming election.I'm sure Michael did the best he could.From personal experience in holding Ohio tournaments-it's difficult to fine a reasonable [$$]place to hold a tournament.The lack of players can be explain by many reasons beyond Michael controll.

As i sent in my dues for 2015 -i realize i have been a member for over 50 years!-can you top that?

Hell no! -Attendance at tourneys is down and so is membership-as i posted before-the majority of people who take on a sport or hobby want to be good at it-from playing checkers,golf or growing roses under 2 move the average player with a little study could play a decent game with a expert at times-3...

I think the 3 way tie for the championship might be due to the 2 game heats.I have drawn 2 game heats with good players that i could not if we had played 4 games.It forces a good player to beat an inferior in a minimum number of games.

I sold my set of acf bulletins so I can't look it up-I recall a national with about $12,000 ? [total prize fund]
