Re: 11-man ballot

But I didn't expect the recommendation to review Tinsley's 3- move games. That probably is an effective way to get...

Re: A Checker Math Problem
Dennis, I knew an instructor once who, after putting his thoughts in writing, always asked his students, as you did: "Please let me know if you spot any errors or typos". And, of course, he would always be sure to include an error or typo to test whether his students were paying attention....

Re: 11-man ballot
The title of this thread seems appropriate for a question I have been wanting to ask for decades. I have never played an 11-man ballot game. But I have read a lot about them. I have been acquainted with a number of masters over the years, enough to know that they 1) practiced a lot against strong co...

The "Craig Position"
Does anyone have a clue about when and where the "Craig Position" was published? If you run across it anywhere, please post it here. For those, like me, who never heard of it before, this is the setting: THE CRAIG POSITION http://fmjd.org/dias2/save/12982318916.png WHITE TO PLAY AND WIN Th...

Re: VA 2010.
Alex,
Maybe the rumor of something exciting at VA 2010 is you. The Virginia players may let you play blindfolded.
I am one of those who would like to meet you.

CLEVELAND PUBLIC LIBRARY (CPL)
As many of you know, CPL has huge collections of checker literature, but with the introduction of the new CPL web site, the checker links were lost. I recently received the following e-mail from the Special Projects Librarian who knows the most about the situation. She has been most helpful to me. I...
