But if your goal Chee is to make checkers explode online and even offline, than your forum personality may have to change. I don't think bashing back at other people who bash at you is the answer. Posting a kurnik list of best players wasn't the answer. Even if it wasnt bragging, other players, and honestly, even myself took it as bragging. Having you and other kurnik players showing up a tourneys would be a great answer. But bashing back at people or even the ACF in general, which you did in one of your posts, I don't see how that helps.

As far as getting people to come to kurnik, one of my suggestions is, you may have to do something about the nature of the people on that site. I think there are many people who do not enjoy the constant trash talking and degrading that goes on there. Even if it is all for fun and pretend, some people take it the wrong way. But I know for sure some of it is really cruel and over the top. I mean, I dont know if you can improve it, but you know a lot of people and perhaps you could try to promote a more friendly environment.

Chexhero wrote:Chee, you have many great accomplishments, but mostly all of them from what I see are Internet ones. Not taking anything away from you but unfortunetly, most ACF players don't care about them. Your program is an exception. But to be brutaly honest, they are sick of hearing you brag about the top Internet players and how they can beat Alex. They hate your list. Internet players love it and it should be shared with them only. You arent going to win friends here by bragging about the top Internet players beating Alex. No one will believe anything until they prove themselves in real tourneys. Online they are great players and I am one who believes they would do well in tourneys, even yourself, but it is one of those things that needs to be proven considering the differences between online and offline. You are trying to get Ray to come to Ohio, which is great. I am assuming he is not one of the Internet jerks. The post was a good one and no one complained about it, it promoted checkers. But bragging about Internet players accomplishments doesn't seem to be working. Anyone who has played at Kurnik knows the talent of the top players, whether they deny it or not, I think the bigger issue people have including myself is the attitude and nature that the kurnik players have. It is one of the reasons I am hesitant to come back to kurnik. Sometimes I just rather play my programs because they don't complain about how long I take to move. I understand you want to promote Internet checkers and get ACF players to come online. But bad attitudes and degrading of people, especially ACF players won't get as many people to come or stay. Yes, some ACF playershave been jerks to, but if you want Internet checkers to explode and achieve your goals, there is a certain responsiblity you will have to take.
Said perfectly well put..

honestly..playing offline and online are different..i placed tied for 5th honestly..i was 1 pt away from being 4th...it sucks but hey..not bad for my 1st online tourney..in a total of 12 3 move games..i lost only 3...the entire tournament...i thought that was a success..i didnt let billy runges naysaying hold me back..and i came out lookin good..i was quite happy...but i know its way different playing online and offline...definitely by far! u think out your moves so much more indepth when your offline..i prefer offline over online..i loved the challenge..

Bobby, I was not trying to hold you back I was more like looking out for you. But you lucked out cause Cowie and Alex was not there which usually they are there which would of knocked you down to 7th? It was alot of new players which made things a little easiar. My first time in Pa was 1 world champ 2 grandmasters and 4 masters and Ray and Neil. That particular year you would not have came close to 4th. Billy

Bobby,

I don't know what Billy told you about the PA Ty exactly but I think he was just trying to point out that you shouldn't be disappointed if you should attend and not come out on top (Trying to keep your expectations realistic.) I feel certain that Billy meant no harm in whatever he told you.

The Pa Ty is dominated by heavy sluggers of the Master and Grandmaster class and anyone going into battle with such a group should feel very proud of their performance should they just get a base hit or two and no shame with regards to where they finish even if they should finish in last place in that tourney. Which you did not. You finished far from last place in fact and I congratulate you on that!

Don't waste time fighting a battle of words here with Billy. Spend your time getting your plans together and organizing a NJ Ty. I know you can do it. I see you becoming a HUGH asset to the ACF. Just stay focused on the important things and you will do well!

Best regards and good luck..."Pal" Bucker

I agree with Pal.... Bobby , i believe Billy was trying to protect you, not demean your playing ability. Just like Alex was protecting Joe by recommending he plays in the majors this year before he jumps to masters...

cheers and good luck with the NJ tourney.

Bobby, I dont know why your going all crazy on me I was not wanting dissapointment and discouragement your first tournament. You seem to take things way to personal. And no I was not at the tournament im aware of that but I have been to that tournament 3 years in a row which is why I was talking to you about it. But dont think im trying to talk you out of tournaments I dont care if you went to Pa or not. Billy

LOL this thread is funny everyone getting so worked up over Chee's comment's. When he's mostly just being sarcastic, oh yea im the Warrior Max by the way real name is Adam. And as if im one of the top Checker's players, i've played like only a handful of games this whole year.

Im 21 year's old and im busy with alot of other stuff, i don't even take checker's seriously. It was just a fun hobby i used to do end of, i played some with Alex M last year and won some and lost some who cares, Chee ranking me above Alex M is just Chee joking. People need to lighten up honestly.

I mean the way people go on about Chee being "an enemy to the ACF" he's just a guy who's having some fun. And like's the competition and wants more competition for the game he likes playing.

the problem lies Adam when there's no respect towards others... it isn't FUN unless both sides are having FUN...
