Currently the ACF membership is rapidly declining. For many attending a checker tournament once a year was their only contribution to checkers that was made. And now internet checkers, such as Play-Ok has drawn players away from the live tournaments altogether. If one was to ask what kind contribution have I made during my career in checkers they would be hard pressed to come up with an honest answer. And for many that answer would certainly be little or none. Only a very small handful of people now keep the ACF going, but they will not be around forever. Few step up to the plate to volunteer their time and help--because it is always easier to let the other guy do the work. Several people with good intentions have come and gone because their contributions were not welcomed or appreciated. So basically we all can take the blame for the decline in checkers because we did not want to get out of our comfort zones to help make the difference to keep the game we all love alive.
