Round 4.

1. Rd4, G1. I. Zachos vs A. Bishop

Red to move and win.

Ingo and Anthony were the biggest contributors to "Missing ... " article  In this game both players didn't play it accurately and I am giving only on diagram position where error was occured last, but not first time. 11-15 here easy won the game almost immediately, but 19-24 as played in games leaded only to unfortunate draw.

#2. Rd4, G1. J. Morrison vs A. Berdiyeva

White to move and win

Jim missed a pretty man down win here by 14-9*, 1-5 (or 11-15, 9-6*, 2x9, 10-7 WW)10-6, 5x14, 6-1 WW. Instead, Jim played 10-7?, 11-16, 14-10, 2x11, 10-6 etc Draw

#3. Rd4, G1. C. Ciampi vs R. Tovagliaro

White to move and draw.

This is the last moment in the game where Mr. Tovagliaro had a chance to escape: 30-26 (instead losing 16-12) to be prepared for 11-15, 16-11*, 7x16, 24-19 etc Draw

#4. Rd4, G2. R. Beckwith vs I. Martinov

Red to move

22-17 ??? No comments, only emotions. I am wondering - how many times in the past Richard played this position for both sides ? It seems like he is completely out of his best form in this event ... or participation in Open changed things to worse for him and he spent all his energy before QT.

#5. Rd.4, G2 J. Francis vs B. Durdyev
Image
White to move

White should better avoid red 20-24 in the past but even now white are completely OK wih 25-22. Instead, Bashir played losing 26-22? and lost after 8-11, 32-28, 7-10, 23-18, 10-15, 19x10, 2-6 etc RW

#6. Rd.4, G2. F. Kareta vs G. Owens
Image
Red to move.

In this very well known from PP position, Garrett played strange losing 1-6? instead 1-5.
I am playing checkers, not chess.
