ACF DUES [Playing Devil's Advocate]

Post by steve »

I understand the need to increase the fee to join the acf. If a new checker player came to the ohio state tourney he would have to pay $40 to join the acf plus a $10 entry fee for some this may be too expensive. One should want to join the acf not be forced. How about an acf fee of $10 or $15 which would allow one to play but would not include the acf bulletin? When i first joined the acf i believe the dues were $3.

Hey Steve,
I believe there is already something like this in effect at the current time...I believe it is called an "associate membership" or something of the like. IIRC, last year at the PA. Ty, my son was going to attend, and would only have to pay this fee (plus the ty entry fee itself), he did not attend, but........
perhaps Rich Beckwith could shed some light on this.

Jay is right. The associate membership is designed exactly for this reason and is $15 (15.76 from ACF store to cover paypal fees)
Associate Membership($15.76)
Our most affordable membership, the ACF Associate Membership option delivers all of the benefits of Regular Membership with the exception of the ACF Bulletin. Specifically for new player attending ACF-sanctioned event.

The new rates are fair. A rate increase was needed to keep the organization financially afloat. Organizations need finances in order to operate,
