It was with sadness that I learned of the death of Iser Kouperman.
I met him in Paris in the 90's and was impressed by his modesty and
kindness.
I have many of his books in english and in russian .
He had a way of explaining strategy so simply that even in Russian I understood what he was trying to convey.
Todays champions, Valneris , tchichov, and many more could not have made it to where they are today if there had not been a Kouperman before them.
There seem to be beings on earth who mark our lives profoundly despite the extreme breifness of the encounter ; and Kouperman was one of them.
My regrets go to his familly
