JR, thank you for posting this article on Richard Jordan with links to other Richard Jordan articles. This is the first time that I have seen a draughts player referred to as a draughtsman (in the Chess Edinburgh article). I still wonder if Richard Jordan is related to Alfred Jordan!? I've heard of Richard Jordan, but I didn't know what a great once in a generation checker player he was until now. The history section of the ACF website has Top Ten Lists of History's Greatest Checker Players. Richard Pask and Hugh Devlin both rate Richard Jordan second, just behind Marion Tinsley!

There is a kind of postscript to the Richard Jordan vs Charles Barker WCM of 1900 that ended in a 2-2-36 tie,
with Richard Jordan retaining the title. In the 1905 International Match, Richard Jordan again faced Charles Barker.
This time Richard Jordan beat Charles Barker 1-0-2.

Did Richard Jordan ever play Alfred Jordan? Yes, in at least one event, Scotland vs England 1910.
In that event they played to an 0-0-3 tie. OK, they are not related, i get it!
