Wiswell Hopper 2
GAYP enthusiasts may be interested to know that the 12 extant games of the 1953 Wiswell-Hopper match are given in 21st Century Checkers, the 11-15s. There is also an openings index to the 6 matches played in this 'intermediate era' and the 18 matches played since 1976: 592 games in all!

Re: Wiswell Hopper 2
Tom Wiswell was victorious in four great GAYP World Championship Matches, the first pair with Millard Hopper, and the second pair with W.R. Fraser.

Re: Wiswell Hopper 2
I have to clarify my above post, as Tom Wiswell became Champion in 1951 by beating then Champion Millard Hopper.
In the 1953 rematch, the match ended in a tie by two wins each. As in Boxing as in Checkers,
you have to take the title away from the Champion. In a tie match, the Champion retains the title.
And that's the way it should be!
