He was very proactive and visited checkers events until last minute. I remember several times when three generations of Stanley's were presented at checkers event - grandson, father (Teal Stanley) and grandfather (Bill Stanley). My deep sympathy to family members, NC players and everyone who knew Bill.

Another great loss for checkers fraternity.
