Heard Larry Pollard died about 3 hours ago CT 4:00 pm Saturday 9/17/2016. I talked to Kelly but I did not get into specifics. She indicated she will start making arrangements tomorrow. Larry had his 72 birthday June 30th. Larry was the Sponsor of the Alabama State Open and District 5, as well as ACF D5 Mgr. I have no information about the AL/D5 upcoming tournament, but will be in touch. JR

Another terrific checkers enthusiast and lover, organizer and man with a great heart passed away. I knew him very well from various Alabama and other State events. Great, unrecoverable loss for our small community. My deep sympathy to his family members, friends and everyone who knew him.
