2017 ACF Election?

Post by John Acker »

The ACF Bylaws (http://www.usacheckers.com/acfbylaws.php) specify that the ACF must hold free elections every two years. The last one was in April 2015, with a call for nominations in the December 2014 bulletin. However, none of the last several bulletins mentioned anything about the election, and no ballot appeared in ACFB #386 (March/April 2017). Should we take this to mean that the ACF has done away with elections?

Joe Moore, are you running for ACF President? Your slogan could be:

MOORE FOR THE ACF

Millhone has done a terrible job as president. We need new leadership, and we need it now.

I can name plenty of good things that Alan has done for the ACF and Checkers in general.

We have lost hundreds of members since he took office. We still have effectively no marketing presence, no corporate sponsors, fewer tournaments, an anemic online presence, and little if any communication between leadership and ACF members. I talk to a lot of checker players, and very few see any good reason to join the ACF.

Hi George,

ACF President is not on my agenda for now, but I do like the slogan!

Most recent news: I nominated Joe Moore for position of ACF Secretary and Travis Weddle (current ACF Secretary) agreed to stay aside.

Here is what I wrote to Travis:

Travis, thanks !

Honestly, I was one who nominated Joe for this position. Not because you didn't do a good job. But Joe is very pro-active recently and has few fresh ideas how to improve things in ACF and I just thought - why not giving him a chance ??

We all had a good chance to see his work as Rating Processor and his influence when we worked on ACF Titles.

Me and (I am sure!) other ACF Exec members want to thank you for your work and for your service as ACF Secretary and I really hope that you continue to help us when opportunity arise.

==========================================================================================================================================================================================================

I don't have much to add to this statement and invite everyone vote for Joe Moore as ACF Secretary. If elected, it will be very nice addition to ACF Executive Committee.
