I just started fundraising campaign on GOFUNDME site

After tie for 1st place with Sergio in Las Vegas in ACF National with 34 points where Ron King was 3rd with 30 points and lost round to me + after finishing second on Barbados in WQT 1 point behind Ron King where I also beat hin in face-to-face round, I decided that I may have all chances to provide certain competition to Sergio and be successful if we play match.

I decided to move ahead and use "Independent Challenge" option defined in WCDF rules which allow outstanding player to submit non official challenge. This challenge must be approve by WCDF, accepted by champion and have outstanding cash prize.

World Champion Sergio Scarpetta already accepted my challenge and agreed to play match if cash prize will be $20,000 + all his expanses will be covered (transportation, accomodation, food). This simplay means that my campaign should raise approximately $22,000-$24,000.

Few majors donors already made a pledge (Thanks to Joe McDaniel, Richard Beckwith, Joe LaConti and ACF), but we are still looking for donations to match our goal.

Due to complexity and uncertainty of Independent Challenge Match conditions, it is postponed until after Sergio plays his match with official WCDF candidate Ron King. This match will be on Barbados in October (I guess) this year and if Sergio retains his title, we will play Independent Challenge Match as earlier as December 2019, or in the beginning of 2020.

I continue working with all potential donors trying to secure match fund. Our "dream goal" is $20,000 - $25,000 which will be the highest individual match price ever in checkers history.

I feel very comfortable to say, that I'll be able to provide World Champion good competition. I also believe that importance and interest to this match can be compared with some other historical Tinsley, Hellman, Long matches. Time will prove!
