Today I received email from my good long time friend Brian Hinkle.

Hi Alex
46 years ago, my father noticed in the local paper that the St. Charles, Missouri Checker Club met at the local library.
It was his idea to take me there when I was 15 years old.
He dropped me off and simply figured that I would like it and he was right! This led to a lifetime of fun for me.
He also appreciated that in the solution to my Bear Claw composition published in 2006 at the Checker Maven that “It doesn’t matter how many kings white has!”
He died on 11/13/2019 at the age of 87.
(If you consider this newsworthy, then please post this at the ACF forum.)
Thank you,
Brian
