Leo Levitt's win over Asa long in the 1974 US Nat Ty was, and will remain, one of the greatest ever scored in crossboard competition.
The fact that Leo didn't find the quick win which Chinook naturally spotted instantly is something we can all be grateful for.
Black: 2, 5, king on 22
White: 10, 24, king on 14.
White to play and win.
Continue … 24-19! (Leo played 24-20 to a beautiful win); 22-25 (Of course, 22-26 is out) 19-15; 25-22 15-11; 22-26 14-18; 26-31 18-23; 5-9 11-8; 9-14; 8-4; 14-17 4-8; 17-22 10-7; 2-11 8-15. White wins.
A quicker win
