One Move?
Any thoughts on having a one move ballot tournament?

One move ballot would be good for minors,...maybe even a two move ballot for majors,...that would leave the three move ballot for masters.
My favorite is GAYP, but for the ACF Three Move Tournament, it makes sense to me to adjust the balloting to the skill level of the competitors.
For a kid's tournament, a one move ballot makes much morse sense than three move. It is almost like GAYP, only not almost everyone is starting with 11-15. My all purpose advise for a one move ballot is to always reply 22-18.

When I read Michael's question it prompted me to think, What would one-move restriction checkers look like if the move chosen at random were White's first move? So Red would open with a free choice knowing how White must respond.
You would need a rule that Red couldn't move to 14 if 21-17 is drawn and couldn't play 12-16 if 23-19 is drawn. The Double Cross would be
played frequently. I'm guessing that 12-16 would be played a lot more often than in GAYP
