What Will Your Contribution to Checkers Be in 2007?

Post by Mr. Checkers »

 "Food for Thought". In looking back at 2006 we can see that there has been some progress made in an attempt to give checkers a stronger foundation on which to build its future. The sad thing about all of this is that most of that work has been accomplished (and put on the shoulders of) by just a few devoted checker followers that have worked night and day so that the game we all love will continue to flourish. So with keeping that in mind perhaps one of our most important "New Years Resolutions" should be "to become more involved" (outside of playing the game) "to help insure the growth and continued prosperity of checkers"? "Food for Thought".

 The Alan Millhones, Richard Beckwiths, Jim Loys etc. of our checker world may not always be there for us to lean on. Pats on the back and praises for doing a good job are I am sure welcomed by them, but even more important to them would be a few "added words" to those praises--"Alan you are doing a fine job"--"added words"--"Is there anything that I can do which would be helpful to you and to the ACF"? Of course those kind of "added words" involve a commitment that most have not been willing to make.
