"Over 35 Checkers Books Sold from One Post"

Post by Mr. Checkers »

 From our one posting only--"$7.99 Priced Checker Books Flood Ebay" over 35 of those books were sold and from what I could see most all of those ended up in the hands of checkers players. If that one posting in any way helped in putting those books in checker players hands where they could be used and enjoyed then I felt that it was well worth my time and effort in posting it here on the ACF Forum. Our critics stated that we put "tons" of Ebay checker books on the General Discussion and yet "they could not find even 5 such books from Ebay", which I found to be very interesting because when the Irving Windt Library arrived at our home in 1979 it weighed in at "tons" (and there were thousands of checker books in that fine collection) and they were delivered by a huge semi truck--and the shipping alone was several thousands of dollars. So perhaps the few Ebay checker books on the forum (that they could not even find) weighed more? Please have a most wonderful day. Take care and God Bless. "Mr. Checkers" P.S. I might also mention that we helped Dennis Clayton sell one of his rare checker books this past week to our good friend Richard Beckwith. Putting checker books together with the checker players that wanted them has been something that we have been doing for 30 years now--and the continuous put-downs on this forum and threats from our critics (via email and private messages) to have us banned from the ACF Forum will in no way deter us from doing what we feel is the right thing to do. And I can guarantte you that if I would have posted an original copy of Payne's--Game of Draughts--1756 in mint condition for $7.99 (on Ebay) that none of this would have ever been brought up in the first place.

 Perhaps it has something to do with that new math that they are teaching in the schools these days--who knows. "Mr. Checkers"

Personally I think Mr Checkers is owed our sincere thanks for making these books known. Some bargains were to be obtained though his making us aware of these books. Please keep up the great work you are doing for our game. Many thanks I say.
