dont complain about the boards people volunteer....key word
to bring to your or your states tournament
or your organizations tournament

it should be provided ....all playing equipment
until that happens stop complaing about some dudes yellow pieces

yea its a culture thing...it isnt broke and they are not fixing it
if i have a tournament here in louisiana
its my responsbility to provide all the equipment
and follow up with ratings acf website to announce
everything
not the people who are good enough to show up and pay to play
most who leave with nothing....or dont break even

i would like things to be as nice as possible but come on

Then the people hosting the tournament can require ACF dues and it will then be ACF sanctioned. I agree with Alan on this whole heartedly. The ACF should not have anything to do with tournaments where players and hosts of the tournament do not require being a member of the ACF. Why reap the benefits of the ACF if your not going to be a part of the ACF?

Why should ACF volunteers spend their time calculating rating (like your doing Patrick), posting and advertising their tournaments and everything that is involved if the tournament does not require a membership to the ACF.

I think there could be more benefits though. Like supplying a Swiss and Round robin software that makes pairings. Scorecards and things of that sort could be supplied to the tournament hosts.

There are benefits especially in the advertising the tournament and rating calculation.

I think that the ACF should add benefits just to make life easier on the people hosting the tournaments and even cause them to want to make their tournament ACF sanctioned because of that reason. But for now it is not that expensive to join the ACF and the people who don't want to do it should not expect the ACF to calculate ratings for their tournament or advertise for it.

Just my opinion
