Hmmm, me too. Sounds like they had a bit of trouble from the get-go today but that's understandable I guess. Jim and his buddies are used to looking up to see the equator and from here you have to look down, that would mess up anyone's sense of direction, don't you think?. :?

From Jim's Blog
Like to say hi To all Jan's checker friends who are following me around especially those that live in the USA
Jan, tell Jim that I'm enjoying his blog and keep it up!
26.07.2012
Awake this morning at 6.30 am and on the road at 8 only trouble was we went the wrong way but we were on route 66 discovered this about about 30 minutes into the trip so jumped on the I40 back to Barstow then we where on our way ( going to buy a GPS tomorrow)
27.07.2012
...no one got lost today ok I did for 10 minutes but we have back up plan to find each other, I missed a turn off but went down next one and backtracked and they were at a gas station.
also tell Jim to forget about the GPS and just start singing Jana Stanfield's song
"I'm Not Lost, I Am Exploring."

"...
Some people choose to live their lives on quite avenues
While others find a place in the parade.

Some like me are seekers, we take less travelled roads
Believing we can find a better way
And thou I get discouraged I won't be turning back
I have Joy as my compass and Faith as my map.

"I'm not lost, I am exploring
Life is an adventure worth enjoying.
Thou I may not know where I'm going
I am not lost, I am exploring. I am not lost, I am exploring."

Jan, tell him that they eat foreigners for breakfast, lunch and supper! and that is why they put zippers on tents!

Hey Neil,

Jim and his friends will cross over the Lincoln Highway on their way to Sturgis and could even ride a part of it on their way back to California.

Jan,

I see from reading Jim's blog post http://www.coolkiwi55.blogspot.com/ that they ended up in Colorado Springs today. I feel sure they are travling north on I-25 and that is just 5 miles west of where Bob Murr lives.

Oh really pal.im not at home at the moment.im in Christchurch , so can't email or get in touch with Jim.have travelled all over Christchurch today looking at the rebuild, since the big earthquakes.lots of people in parts of the city are still living in badly damaged homes, waiting for insurance company's to bail them out.but there is also a lot of exciting rebuilding going on.Visited container city today, where they've used containers to build really unique little shops.theyre great ,colorful, and very innovative.
I think Christchurch will be amazing city when rebuilt.
