Women's World Freestyle Championship
Re: Women's World Freestyle Championship
The websites you gave Irma, on travelling to Turkmenisten, doesnt actually inspire confidence in travelling to the area.Of course i perused all this months ago,and the WCDF should have also done their homework before accepting such a bid.Against my better judgement i accepted to go Balkanabet. My husband also agreed to go at this time. It was not my fault i couldnt get a date.We did our utmost to do so from the Dudeyovs. At the time,i had confidence that the executive would set the standard and start organizing it.Instead it was left up in the air.

I also read that USA Embassy fact sheet on Turkmenistan.
Well, if you read it, you will see it paints a rather dismal picture of that country.
All the rigmarole involved in dealing with currency, lack of ATMs, and the various police restrictions and bureaucracy. The transit service through the airport seems an absolute nightmare. Certainly one would not wish to see one's wife, for example, stranded there on a cold night. (Unless one was Basil Fawlty, that is.)
This is not just some hack internet site, but an official US Govenment agency web page.
I believe much more strenuous efforts should have been made by those responsible to have had the match held at a neutral venue.

Liam,
All these safety considerations about Turkmenistan are important, but were raised a long time ago and were considered. While I have never personally been to Turkmenistan, the WCDF did consult with Walter van Beek who has been there and assured us that he did not personally find significant travel difficulties. There is inherent risk traveling to any country, including my own country. Another thing to think about is whether the Turkmenistan government would ever want to bend over backwards (beyond the minimal invitation that was put forward) to the checker community to invite someone to their country when this public forum is used as a means to publicly insult their homeland.

Thank you Richard,
I also have never been to that country and intended it no insult. If you view it as such I would apologise. I was merely commenting on the facts as stated in the USA Embassy web page.
Regards - Liam

This is going to get worse and worse, isn't it? It may come down to a question of lost email.
I believe that both sides are honorable people. And they disagree on the facts. And there are insults. This issue will get uglier and uglier until someone examines all of the email and issues a judgment.

To Richard Beckworth, who quoted Walter Van Beek, but didnt quite finish his sentence, which i find quite strange,Walter Van Beek also mentioned "not to count on any financial promises"What am i to think about that?
on 18.7.09,an email from John Reade tells me, 'I know it looks risky, but im sure it will be all right" Its all very reassuring is it not?

Excellent suggestion. Time to set up the Independent Tribunal.

Many thanks for pointing, Irma. I already corrected my error and giving my apologise to Eric and other who may be disappointed with my typo.Irma Sierra wrote:Hey Alex, let's have some more fun, si? you are good watching the straw in others eyes?????...take a look of this link, you will laugh, I could bet my life!![]()
I don't laugh, because in Russian language any name misspeling is very painful and always considered as some sort of disrespect. This is not fun at all. Most insulting thing for Russians - not having a first letter of first/last name in capital.
Again, thanks for giving me a chance to fix it. If you see any other typos in my future posts, please, let me know immediately. Usually I am extremely careful with names and never repeat the same mistake twice. In case of Eric first name it was a typo, not an error.

Greetings Mr. Moiseyev:Alex_Moiseyev wrote: In case of Eric first name it was a typo, not an error.
Your statement above is false.
A typo is a type of error.
A typo which results in a spelling error is still a spelling error.
Due to your sudden interest in the spelling of other posters, I know you will be grateful when I point out two other spelling errors you have committed above.Alex_Moiseyev wrote:Many thanks for pointing, Irma. First, I would like to call your attention to your use of "apologise" above, which I have highlighted in red.
The word "apologise" is a verb and is the incorrect form of this word in this sentence.
Instead, the correct form of this word is the plural noun form, which is "apologies."
In order to help you become more literate with the English language, I have provided a link to a tutorial page below, which will provide you with a lesson on the correct grammar of the word "apologise" and its various forms.
http://elc.polyu.edu.hk/cill/eiw/apologise.htm
Your entire post contains other grammatical errors as well, but it would take me too long to explain them to you.
I don't want to overwhelm you with any more corrections than you can handle at this time.
Next, I would like to call your attention to your use of "misspeling" in your second paragraph above, which I have also highlighted in red.
The correct spelling of this word is "misspelling." You left out a letter "l."
Although your statement above was directed to Irma Sierra, I would like to join in and help you as well.Alex_Moiseyev wrote:If you see any other typos in my future posts, please, let me know immediately.
I am very pleased with your sudden interest in the art of spelling.
Improving your spelling and grammar will help you become a better American citizen, because you will be showing greater respect for the English language.
I will be more than happy to assist you in achieving your goal to improve the quality of your American citizenship.
Very Sincerely,
Dennis Cayton
