,...........lets afford some reason to all these accusations and contradictions ........AND SET A NEW DATE IN A NEUTRAL VENUE B4 WE ARE ALL SWAMPED BY THIS.
Hello Jan,I had a death in the family this week...
Greetings Liam:liam stephens wrote: I believe we are all prone to typos from time to time, I know I certainly am.
Thank you, Liam.liam stephens wrote:But, with a little more care and attention to peoples names plus a few lessons from Dennis (he is an excellent teacher and his tuition fee is very modest ) this problem will, hopefully, be solved.
Alex has not been very respectful to Jan Mortimer with the vicious campaign of character assasination and personal attacks he has waged against her.Josh Armstrong wrote: Alex has got to be one of the most respectful players in the checkers community.
I have provided no evidence whatsoever to support your inference that I may be a "white supremacist." Please be advised that I consider this to be a personal attack against my character, and it has been reported.Josh Armstrong wrote:Personally Dennis, I find your post distasteful. Are you a white supremacist or just extremely arrogant about your grammatical abilities?
I find this to be a most extreme and unusual reaction to a little bit of grammatical and spelling instruction.Josh Armstrong wrote: Reading your post made me feel as if I were in the 1800s reading American Nativist propaganda.
Do you need to be reminded that it was Alex himself who requested that he be informed of any and all typos in his future posts?Josh Armstrong wrote: You should consider pressing the link on the top of the page for private messaging for all your future dog-whipping sessions.
You will notice that he did not request to be advised of these typos in the private messaging venue.Alex_Moiseyev wrote:If you see any other typos in my future posts, please, let me know immediately.
In that case, he should treat Jan Mortimer with the respect and integrity that she deserves.Josh Armstrong wrote:Alex is a very fine American citizen despite his lack of English abilities. He's respectful, honest, with integrity.
I think all members of our checker playing fraternity should be respectful of each other, including champions and non-champions alike.Josh Armstrong wrote:I think we should show all our champions a little more respect.
To Josh Armstrong:Josh Armstrong wrote:That e-mail was quite interesting Alex. It seems that Jan suffers from ethnocentrism. Does she not like the Turkmen people? Or is it just their religion? Maybe it's the fact that they were former territories of the Soviet Union.
I do not find your public personal attack against Jan Mortimer to be a laughing matter.Josh Armstrong wrote: I recommend everyone read the letter for a good laugh.

liam stephens wrote: An excellent proposal by Tommy Canning which I wholeheartedly support.
That would be a very magnanimous gesture and hopefully put an end to the repetition of old arguments and matters getting worse and worse, as referred to by Jim Loy in an earlier posting. It would also obviate the need for a, possibly long drawn out, tribunal to decide on the rights or wrongs, and allow all sides to emerge with honour intact.
A number of colleagues and friends of many years standing, whom I greatly respect, have told me that my call for the WCDF to dissolve was unfair. I take that criticism on board and if the WCDF committee would consider Tommy’s proposal, I would welcome that and withdraw my call for the WCDF to dissolve and wish them well in their endeavours.
If it is objected that finance is not available for such a match I propose the setting up of a subscription fund. I will donate the first €100 to such a fund.
I do urge the WCDF to reconsider.

That is the WCDF pronouncement, but the forthcoming GA meeting could rescind that decision if they listen to the reasoned and reasonable plea made recently, supported by several members, to reinstate the match at a neutral venue. A number of readers, by no means all of them supporters of Jan had a similar outlook. It has been pointed out by many and even by members of the WCDF committee that mistakes were made on both sides.“…….. as Amangul has already retained her title.”
