It was so much work, 70! tournaments, check out the initial list of American tournaments, give me feedback, I must run!

Jake, the American Tournaments are a great addition to the OCL !!!
The history and level of play are incredible, starting in 1907 with Barker, C.
The auto-play with Aurora Borealis is a nice feature.

The obvious questions are - what are ACA and NCA, are they the same or rival organizations?

Re: Online checkers library.
The World Titles page has a rich historical information - locations, winners, comments, the games attached as part of the record.
The American Tournaments at this time is "naked" - just games, no details of any kind.
Many of you are good historians, can fill the gaps. Even when OMOCH is back and could provide many details, its wording that counts, for example the wording of many magazine descriptions was done by a researcher who called original editors.

Hmm, I just do not feel comfortable distributing pdn, its really is ACF property, try their own page http://www.usacheckers.com/show_game_start.php

The ACA is the American Checker Association, with the first National Tournament in 1907.tgf wrote:The obvious questions are - what are ACA and NCA, are they the same or rival organizations?
The NCA is the National Checker Association, a rival of group with its first National Tournament in 1937.
The ACA got together with the NCA to form the ACF, the American Checker Federation with its first National Tournament in 1948.
I'm hoping the OMOCH site will soon be back in operation as it has more historical information on checker organizations and all things checkers!

Re: Online checkers library.
I replaced blue diagrams with less bright black and white on the USA tournaments page.
I see people do use the page to view the games, in several countries.
There is a link to ACF own games page http://www.usacheckers.com/show_game_start.php but the games there are in PDN and need to be converted to view, the library games are all converted and generated for direct view, all that is needed is click to open and enjoy, no downloads, no special programs.

That is a great cross-check to get the background story on the world championship matches in the Online Checkers Library.

One of the most prolific library contributors was Bernard Coll from Great Brttain, but suddenly he disappeared in the middle of sending book chapters. I wrote to several people overthere trying to find out, perhaps someone here knows?

There is another thread of shot problems at viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2155, but Alan Millhone has deleted all but one of the messages with the actual diagrams.tgf wrote:I used to post some shots here, does anyone remember where to find them?
