womens world match
Re: womens world match
So its broken so go fix it..............its such a pity that Jan Mortimer has to spend so much of her own time trying to get you boys to do the right thing, otherwise im sure it too would have been brushed under the carpet./As for a new president in 2012 i can only say he/she s gotta be better that the last lot and maybe we wil have a real committe with real delegates who do real trhings and are told the real storu and is transparent not PUPPETS on a string like these lot. Im sure the FMJD must be having a good laugh at us and .Dont get me wrong i can see how much time it takes but they picked it but the ineffiency has been just appaling from start to finish and trying to defend the fort is just the last straw.I mean we all make mistakes its the cover up that makes us sick.
Oh and bye the Hugh Devlin qouted me on a list there well i have taken no part in that charade either but in name only.........when originally it was myself R Beckwith and Alex Moiseyev who were the sole members on that comittee it was fine but when MR CONTROLLER himself decided TO ADOPT HIMSELF along with other people already in the WCDF ONTO THAT COMMITTEE that was the end of the line for me and to be honest .So i can only suppose that its just another closed shop committee .......SO WHATS NEWS""

Tommy, Lets be fair here. I believe your 1st paragraph speaks for itself. I think you owe an apology to a good number of people. Enough said.
In regard to your 2nd paragraph I was asked on to this committee. Please note this committee was Chaired by Dr. R. Beckwith and in the open and transparent way this was gone about the WCDF asked for volunteers to take part in this review process. You were one of those who volunteered but as soon as the work began we never heard from you again. (I was being kind in omitting this) I'll leave others to make their own mind up.

Re: womens world match
I still hope that the Ladies World Championship match takes place. I am very surprised that it has not happened yet! While the match would have a winner and loser, in every other way it is a win/win. Both champion and challenger are from the same country, so that to me is a very prestigious thing. It is just basic fairness. "The ladies division was won by Hurmagul Toyeva (Turkmenistan), who has earned right to challenge Amangul Durdyeva for the Ladies World 3-move title." Chess and 10x10 Checkers has excellent womens and youth movements. The recent 10x10 World Championship Tournament had two teenagers (young adults) participating, Alan Silva of Brazil and Roel Boonstra of the Netherlands. And so what happens to our teenage (young adult) challenger? With all due respect, I hope this match takes place! --George Hay

Re: womens world match
So much anger in some posts here. Thank goodness for Tommy, John, Liam and Eric who never fail to present the much-needed humour at this Forum.
Jan, I know you are not making anything up concerning Hurmagul Toyeva as I have read her messages to you via Facebook. As a consequence of these messages I was prompted to pose the question as to whether or not the WCDF had contacted Hurmagal Toyeva .

Hugh,I am indeed sorry to hear you have been hospitalised, and on behalf of the members of the SDA we wish you a full and speedy recovery. Bernard Coll, VP. of SDA.
Re: womens world match
Well i fail to see why the WCDF would ask for anyone else to join the committee when it ended up that it was all but one WCDF people on it.That makes no sense to me anyway and there was no consultation about enlarging it[why am i surprised yu might ask] Well im sure Richard has the answers of who did what and when.....all will be revealed in due course no doubt.
I had no further interest it the Review after that thank you very much as it was apparent to me there was nothing independant about it.

Dear Hugh, I am sorry to hear about your health probblems and on behalf of American players I wish you fast and easy recovery. Steppping aside from WCDF President duties is your choice. I can confirm that under your several terms checkers survived and became more professional and stable. We didn't get alot of progress in all fields and corners, but in other hands we didn't lose our strength, heritage and traditions.
I also really hope that in the nearest future you will be back to business - competitive checkers, where you belong for more than two decades.
Thanks for your service,
Alex Moiseyev

Sorry to hear that youve been sick Hugh, hopefuly you are on the mend.I havent made any false statements on here only queries to Hermagul Toyeva's questions to me,and im hoping at the next election the statutes are amended to allowing freedom of speech and expression, that no-one is gagged, unless they are openly abusive.

Eric said, register there and you can speak as openly as you want!
What exactly do you mean by your statement Eric? Are you saying that the moderators on ACF are on everybody's backs? Looks to me like your cloned site is just an extention of the ACF cesspool that is in existence!!

I put that extension of my website up so that people could speak their minds because Alan does not want to have to spend all day making sure that nobody is offending anyone on ACF. SO if you want to have serious arguments you can do it on my website and I don't care. My website will not be moderated by anything except direct threats. http://cross-board.com/forums

Re: womens world match
Thanks Eric, Your point is indeed valid, and may I take this opportunity to thank you for you excellent crossboard.com checker site. I feel you are a genuinely motivated young man, albeit with the occassional blip! We all are/were. I did take exception to your off the cuff remarks regarding ( the ladies match, could they not just meet up in the local Starbucks and play) I know they live in the same country, and to outsiders it seems ridiculous that they cannot just meet up and play! Maybe not as simple as that? I also took exception to remarks by Lindus Edwards about you remarks being "humorous"!! Not your fault. I have known Lindus for many years and he is a likeable person, but personally I feel his late father, (one of the top 4 in their era ; John Mc Gill, William Edwards, Tom Watson and Pat McCarthy) would have frowned upon him making such a statement. Regards, Bernard.
