Ingo, I am completely unaware of any tournament format event which leaded title to change hands. Your examples are not accurate because all of them are related to champion death or retirement. Ron King beat William Edwards in 1994 (challenger match), Derek Oldbury beat Richard Hallett in 1992, another challenger match. Marion Tinsley retirement in 1958 and death of Walter Hellman in 1975 and Derek Oldbury in 1994 also contributed to this uncertainty, but never created a chaos. We have a straight line since 1934 and wonderful collection of matches.

WCDF power is accepted and recognised by National Federations and this power is limited.

I did receive this title as result of my match with E. Lowder in 2002 (you may also consider my match with R. King in 2003) and I will lose this title only as result of match, my retirement or death.

I will never agree and accept any transposition of this title into any other format rather then match face-to-face. WCDF can create their own title but mine is with me ... until I lose

I didn't create this title and I am not authorised by other champions to giveup on it. They will never forgive me.

Concerning tournaments ...

In Beijing 2008 from 18 games I won 9 games and 9 draws. In Alabama State Tournament 2011 last fall I won 3 games and 11 draws. What tournament was stronger ?

I am thinking seriously now about an option to rent a space for advertisement in your greeting message zone and place here: "Listen Alex twice a day !"

I have not seen any proposals to change the overall world title system from the current match format. The point is that this same model was not working as well for women (with a number of notable women players speaking out against it). They will now try something that the youth have already been doing, and we shall she how it goes.

Today things changed: 20 days after WCDF deadline and 10 days before my deadline.

If in the next 11 days until end of March we don't hear EXACT new from WCDF regarding QT 2012, on April 2nd I will make an announcement regarding my next opponent in the World Title Match 2013.

And I want you to understand folks that I am not kidding.

Probably my last post needs a little bit more clarification ...

Maybe I missed something, but so far I saw only preliminary announcements from WCDF regarding event in Lille, without details.

People need to know all financial conditions (even if nothing), exact dates, deadlines, visa information etc. People need invitation letters and contact information with WCDF and/or France and/or IMSA.

Without this I don't consider anything rocked and finalize. it's just a little bit more than rumors only, but not official serious information from serious perople.

I don't consider deal done until I see an exact, detail information regarding QT.

Dear Alex,

with all due respect, but you know fairly well that the QT and a Women`s World Championship will be held at the WMSG in Lille, August 9th to 23rd (3-move).
This has been communicated and is widely known.

And, as pointed out among others, yourself, the IMSA does not cover any hotel costs this time.
Anybody (any federation) who wishes to attend should plan for this dates, though we will probaly only need 6 days, not the whole two weeks, but the schedule is currently being worked out, but needs negotiations with FMJD and IMSA.

Probaly at least the winner if not the first three of the men`s event) will be invited for the World Daccord Mind Games in December in Beijing, where this time "Checkers"("our game") has the right to host a demonstration event with all costs covered and a 5,0000 Dollar price fund.

Alex himself already announced with regret that he can not make it to the WMSG this time, but is ready to play in Beijing in December.

Also the venue has been discussed, even in this forum, in this very thread!

A program of the WMSG/QT will be released when we know the exact details (schedule, referees, IMSA rules for participation, medals, prices).

I know this leaves a few questions, but it would not be right to publish them before they are fixed.

Ingo, thanks for information, hope it will be useful and helpfu for those who concern. This is first time when I see very much full complete official announcement from WCDF officer, not rumors. The only thing I don't understand - why thition was published only AFTER my post, why not before ?

I am satisfy with this and now consider deal done and my offer to organise and play independent match expired.

Now, when it's over I can tell you the secret - I planned to propose to play Independent 3-moves World Title Match to Shane McCosker, Ireland. We didn't have any conversations before and I planned to contact with him after April 1st on this matter.

Now he has to confirm in Lille that my choice wasn't wrong !

I can also confirm in public that due to some circumstancies and my commitents to job, family and checkers, I can't play in Lille in August, but instead I will play my 11 man ballot WCM with Richard Beckwith and attend Alabama State (November) and Sport Accord event in Beijing, China (December) if opportunity arise.

I wish everyone good luck in Lille and the best should win !

Ingo, don' think I am too crazy on this, I am trying to push WCDF to be professional and responsible, thats all.

Regards,

Alex
