Hi, folks !

For me 2007 was a real "Pig Year", when many things turn into wrong directions, most of the goals were not achieved, and dreams and plans were not materialized. It was only one really good exception - my exhibition tour to Ireland.

This is especially strange, because I am pig (1959), my old son (1983) and second son (1995) are also pigs and pig is a good animal which suppose to support me ... well, not quite in 2007, maybe 2019 will be better! In 2007 I lost several checkers friends - Elbert Lowder, Gene Lindsay, couple Russians :roll:

In 2007 I lost many of my motivations and energy and my personal and family things also didn't went very smoothly this year, as I earlier posted here.

I wish New Year, 2008, will be much better and easy for everyone. Checkers are in the middle of turning to new directions, and new generation of young players is taken control of things.

In 2008 we should have many exciting events:

- 11 man ballot 1st ACF National;
- US ACF 3-moves National;
- 3-moves QT;
- King vs Kondlo GAYP World Title Match;
- Durdyeva vs Mortimer Woman GAYP World Title Match;
- Mind games in China.

Other may extend this list.

Who was a checkers hero this Year in my eyes ?

- Gerry Lopez who ran two major checkers events this year;
- Lubabalo Kondlo who won both of them;
- Shane McCoskey, who won Youth US National, was 3rd in US GAYP National and 2nd in Irish Open ! Quite good collection of accomplishments !
- Jim Loy with his classic "Lowder ... " and several other books this year;
- Organisers of Irish Open;
- Alan Millhone who started build new financial arms and muscules for ACF;

Who was my "anti-hero" this year ? I leave this question Open and propose to you answer on your own :lol: I have at least one name :twisted: on this list.

Happy New Year and the very Merry X-Mas to everyone !!!

Regards,

Alex Moiseyev

Ohhh ... almost forgot. First time since 1996, this year I didn't lose any single game though I was in lost in 5 or 6 of them among 160 which I played. However - I don't know if it's count anything.
