I had never heard of PDN and/or Checkerboard.... I downloaded some of the stuff and had a look at it..... it is not clear to my how I can create a PDn though.... is there any webpage that can enlighten me on this matter. I got a million questions about PDN ... I think it's fantastic.

I'd say the most common way to "create a PDN" is use a program like Checkerboard to make the moves with your mouse. You can then copy the game in PDN format using some of the menu options (I don't remember them off the top of my head though).

However if you're really interested or wish to do some sort of programming with PDN, here's a page I refer to:

I would also consider to buy the following progam:

with it, the creation of html applets or pdn-databses or textfiles and diagrams and the editing of comments is very easy and you can browse and search in databasesa much easier then with checkernoard.

In checkerboard, you need the help of a text editor to split exixting files and to create a new file properly.

With Aurora that is much easier.
It is more expensive, but a kind of swiss knife for almost all kinds of draughts, say draughts 100, shashki, or frisian draughts.

As you do not qualify your post with requiring that it be PDN, there are zillions of other books. You will find many of Pask's books in Bob Newell's site. And you will find many cheker books in Google Books. I recently described using a line from Durgin's Single Corner, obtained free from Google Books, to win a key game in a turn-based tournament.

Thanks a lot Jason & Ingo. I am slowly spending my spare time with this. i think is great as i am a visual person and i need to study books with a board by my side or they make little sense to me. I love technology
