QT 2010 nomination.

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

My question goes to WCDF authorities if they read this post and have intention to respond

We are every close now to deadline, March 31, and I am interesting - how many National Federations and organisations, members of WCDF, renew their membership ?

And here is another related question - how many participants (as of today) we anticipate to have in each event: 3-moves QT 2010, Ladies 3-moves QT 2010 and Youth 3-moves World Championship ?

So far we have 4 associations affiliated to the WCDF, and 4 players nominated for the qualifier. (3 men and 1 woman)

Alan / Rich,

Deadline for nominations is one month before the tournament starts.

Associations must be affiliated (i.e. paid up) before they can nominate anyone.

Alex,

I think many federations wait until summer to nominate their players, perhaps using their own summer Nationals to determine who goes. This might be good at getting their hottest player into the tournament, but the "short notice" might keep someone from traveling overseas. Last year there was only 1 month between US National and WQT.

So, ACF has been looking back two Nationals (2008) as a starting place, although there are other criteria to consider too (WCDF Qualifier performance, rating, etc.). Several people have declined, but several weeks ago I confirmed, Michael Holmes (2009 TN champ), Charles Freeman (2nd in 2009 WQT) and Kim Willis. Two others are still "thinking about it." There are certainly more available women and youth spots too, if anyone is interested, but WCDF age limit is 18 rather than 21.

Thanks, Richard ! I really hope Jim Morrison and Dr. Webster can make it and ACF team will be strong enough and represented in best way. When I told John at TN ty that 2,000 EURO will be given to winner (after match confirmed), he said that he is considering it seriously now.
