Suspicious email.

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

Did anyone received suspicious emails from me saying I am in London and my wallet was stolen ??? I wish I have a chance to go there :))) but ... not yet.

Email came from my son Michael and I am just trying to figure out if the problem is with me (my email) or him.

Hello Alex,

I believe someone has hacked into your computer and has your password. If I were you I would establish another password. This is a scam. If you have a face book account, they may have your password there too.
About a year ago, someone did the same thing to me and some of my friends sent $2500 as they thought I was in London stranded also. Luckily , I was able to get in touch with them and tell them I did not travel out of Las Vegas. So far, I haven't received any emails telling me you are in London, but others may have so to be safe, I recommend that you change your passwords immediately.

All the best,
Mac

Mac, many thanks for input. It didn't happened with me, but happened with Michael - my son. He lost a facebook account though not a big deal (ha-ha) and immediately locked his gmail account and changed password. Unfortunately it was a generic password which he used in many places, including credit cards etc. But so far it doesn't seem to be any more damage.

Michael called me today and said that about 30 his friends and relatives called him to report fraud. I don't know details but certainly beleive that noone sent a money.

Yes, having several unique passwords is the best and secured way.

Hello Alex,

Sounds as if your son Michael has taken the necessary steps to ensure the emails of fraud have stopped.

All the best,
Mac
