but thankfully,
There are many good young people who play checkers at tournaments and also online. I look to them to keep checkers alive and well. Rude young people who know everything and disregard and disrepect those who have gone before them, are just rude and obnoxious younguns. I've met several young players who are wonderful players and wonderful people.

Every young person I have met in ACF so far have indeed been great people. At this tournament- Alex Holmes, Nick Addante, John Acker, Nick Boatman. Then in PA- Bobby Lowen and Laverne Wrey. All having their own personalities, but all class acts. Not to mention all very good players and a positive sign for ACF future.

whenever i feel too young i look at someone younger (eg you Doctor Acker.. *cough* i mean Mister Acker) and start a sentence like this...JohnAcker wrote:Heh. I teach college students for a living, so checker tournaments are about the only place where I can be "young"!
