1) Round scoring - Winner-take-all for 4 games match.
2) Ballot scoring - Winner take all of each 2 game set.
My personal choice for Master Division - 2nd option. Actually I am relatively conservative person and am extremely cautious with any new changes unless we prove that we don't have more worse and ruin other things.
However, this particular change is certainly a good one in my eyes, which will improve the entire process, is in favor to strong players and encourage people be more creative.
Kind of historical moment ! Several decades we used an old system, but I feel confident that old champions whom I represent today, would certainly support my choice and approve it. I think I even read in some article Marion Tinsley remark on this scoring.
Originally I proposed a 3rd option, Robin Round system, but recently rejected it from my proposals - due to complexity, uncertainty and not an easy way to maintain.
Players from other Divisions, Majors and Minors, also have a choice to pick new, "per ballot" system by voting.
Many thanks to Joe Moore who originated this conversation on this forum, and thanks to ACF Exec Committee which showed that they also are not an old crocodiles
Scoring per ballot is the most proper thing to do in 3-moves events. I hope some day state authorities also adopt this system. Getting 3 or 4 points per ballot is a lot of difference which often hurts my rating alot.
