Ratings Updated

Ratings have been updated on the site. Southern States was the last tournament entered. Some big rating increases took place over the last 6 months. Alex Holmes went up well over a 100 points. I think Nick Boatman had the biggest increase as he went up 192 points and has barely surpassed me. Congrats to both those young players and others for being among the most improved players. Alex Moiseyev has by far the highest rating among active players for the year 2012 standing at 2252. Jim Morrison is second at 2218 and Richard Beckwith is third at 2183. Remember, at the end of this year those players who have not played in 2011 or 2012 will be eliminated from the list.

Players who have not played 2010 to current month 2012 <-------

The cycle is 2-3 years for players to be dropped from active list

so at the beginning of each year it is 2 years and by the end of the year it is 3 years

I hope this makes sense :)

Lol I had to read that about 3 times before it made sense. In other words, right now it is 3 years. But on Jan 2013 it will be 2 years, only ACF players that have played in 2011 and 2012 will be part of the list. So yea, its not technically the end of the year the change takes place, but beginning of next year :)

Is there a reason why I show up on icheckers.net/ratings but not on the USA checkers ratings page?

Travis,

The list on this site consists of ACF members only and is the official ratings list for the ACF. The list on icheckers.net consist of both ACF members and non members. I believe you are probably not an ACF member and that is why you are not on the ACF list. If you are and did sign up for the ACF and paid the fee let us know.

Non members can become a part of the ACF ratings list by joining the ACF, 40 dollars for the year. Or there is a smaller fee for 15 dollars a year. Less ACF benefits, but being apart of the rating list is included.

Joe, does it mean that you continue to calculate ratings for ALL players who plays in processed events and just only don't display their rating ?

For instance ... If some foreigner player who is not ACF member pays $15 - his/her "new displayed rating" will be real and up to date, or provisional ?

Yes, all players who play in events recognized by the ACF, which includes ACF members will receive a rating, it just won't be displayed on the ACF rating list if they aren't an ACF member. However, if there is some checkers tournament say in Italy and it does not have any ACF members and only Italian players, then those players will not get rated at all. Now if a player who happens to be on icheckers.net ratings pays the ACF 15 dollars, the minimum fee to join, then yes, they will have their name displayed on the ACF ratings list. Does that answer your question?

I am not sure, but I would assume there has been some people who paid for the 15 dollar membership.

Joe,
When you get a chance check the ratings for Harvey Kelly. I am pretty sure that he has been an ACF member for years. Thanks!
