What do you like about checkers?: .....

English question.

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

My English is not very perfect and is broken. I have a question to experts: it is written on ACF website front page on top, 2nd line

A forum about the great game of Checkers, hosted by the ACF

My question is: what exactly is hosted by ACF: Checkers or forum ?

Thanks in advance for educating.
I am playing checkers, not chess.

What do you like about checkers?: I enjoy learning more and more as i go. despite its alleged simplicity the game is incredibly complex and rewarding.

I hate redundancy as much as the next guy, Dr Acker, but in this case i don't mind it being spelled out, as it were :)

Alex, i think that if we get technical, the ACF is also hosting checkers (tournaments) .... And my last point is this, I believe that if you are able to pass on your ideas and thoughts, that is effective communication. By that definition, your english is not broken Mr Moiseyev, but alive and well. Otherwise we wouldn't be able to argue :D

I am not a native speaker, but I think it means:

1. There is a forum about the great game of Checkers.
2. This forum is hosted by the ACF.
