Re: RIP Earl Hangen
Very sorry to hear the news of Earl's passing.
For many years he served, with distinction, the office of Mail Play Director for the ACF.
I have a letter from him in those days asking about a line of play that was published in the English Draughts Journal and in Churchill's compilations.
May he rest in peace.

Re: RIP Earl Hangen
Earl Hangen was a true friend of mine for over 50 years. He promoted checkers his entire life. He always responded quickly when I asked him to do something involving checkers. In my checker life, he ranks among a few who devoted
their life to bettering checkers for everyone. Earl ran many mail checker ladders and also was instrumental in the
making the U. S. I. D. so popular for years and provided the checker play to Richard Fortman so the I. D. games could
be annotated. Earl was also involved with conducting world mail checker championship matches. Also, Earl was one of the kindest people I have ever met. He was always fair in resolving checker disputes , never taking sides, even with
his closest friends. Earl can't be replaced and will be sorely missed my the checker world and everyone he ever came in
contact with. Rest in Peace Earl as you surely have earned it. Your friend, Mac Banks
