Another unusual transposition

Post by Richard Pask »

9-13 23-19; 6-9 27-23; 9-14 22-18; 11-15 18-11; 8-15 1916!?; 12-19 23-16; 4-8 24-20; 8-11 25-22?; 1-6 32-27; 6-9 29-25: featured on p170 of Alex's 6th - a Lowder innovation.

10-14 24-20; 6-10 22-18; 11-15 18-11; 8-15 20-16?! (J. Bradford v J. Duffy elimination match 1926!); 12-19 23-16; 4-8 28-24; 8-11 24-20; 1-6 (15-19 was played in the game) 25-22; 9-13 29-25; 6-9 32-28 same!

Worth noting for future reference.

It is always good to see an innovation from Elbert Lowder, and to look something up in Alex Moiseyev's Sixth. At a basic level, white threatens a two-for-one shot after 7. ..., 24-20 in the first set of moves!
