SPECIAL CONTEST

Post by Bill Salot »

Heads up . . . on Saturday, July 18, a special checker problem contest will be activated featuring problem fireworks in a style that many of us have never seen before. Look for it at the appointed time on the usual contest page or at the link below.

I cannot imagine all that effort Bill Sallot put in to produce the contest rewarded by a single vote, do not understand players lethargy to support initiatives.

Thanks for the boost, Jake. The problems are indeed a little extra special this time.

Some of the judges prefer to spend more time with the problems before voting. Some actually try to solve them! A good number of them will eventually vote. I'm sure of it.

Still, Jake's point is a point well taken! Of course, I'm hoping for a good turnout!
(And I better check the deadline for voting!) :)

Excellent problems, The first time I looked at them I couldn't decide which I liked best and I didn't want to vote until I had time to study them all again.
I came back today and went through them all again and looked at some two and three times before voting. I think some voters may have to flip a coin
before voting. Enjoyed all of them!

Contest 23 has broken the record for the number of contest visitors, and is still counting.
But it has not yet reached the record number of votes in a problem composing contest.
We hope that some of the visitors will return to cast a vote for their favorite stunner.
The polls are open through the end of August, just one more weekend.
