I got a Facebook message from a gentleman who is looking for a board similar to the one his grandfather (Thomas Steagall, a majors-level player from TN) used in the 1970s. He describes it as having a wooden base (maybe plywood), vinyl or asbestos tiles on top, and green and white squares. Here is a picture: http://procheckers.com/board.jpg. Does anyone know who might have produced the board or where Mr. Steagall could find a similar one?
Thanks!
John
Does this board look familiar?
