Subject: Re: I want to learn more about American Checkers
I am planning to reprint the book "Let's Play Checkers" by Kenneth Grover and Thomas Wiswell.
When ever I reprint a book I always include a brief biography of the author.
I knew both Grover and Wiswell but I knew Grover much better.
Can you tell me where to find biographies of Grover and/or Wiswell? Do you at least know their birth and death years?
Sam Sloan
Any help on the Grover / Wiswell question will be appreciated.

Re: Request foe Historical Infoemation
I may have mentioned it before but a newly typeset edition of Let's Play Checkers is available in PDF format from my Checker Maven website. It was published with the permission of the Grover estate. The diagrams are crisp and clear and it's much easier to read than the original.
I imagine Sam wants to publish a printed book, though.

ACF Member Pal Bucker has a bio of Ken Grover (10 MAY 1908--6 SEP 1993) in Find a Grave.
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cg ... d=27968504
ACF Bulletin Editor Jim Loy wrote a bio of Tom Wiswell (25 APR 1910--14 NOV 1998) for Wikipedia that incredibly was never included in Wikipedia!
The bio is in some kind of user page that is linked below.
