What do you like about checkers?: Checkers is a game of pure logic.

My condolences to the family and friends of Frank Bednall. He was a true sportsman and checkerist who represented England in World Qualifiers.

I last saw Frank at the 2009 British and Irish Freestyle Ty in Stonehaven.
I had known him since the 1970s when we played by correspondence in several of the Bill Brewer postal tournaments.
I still have a number of his letters from that time.
May he rest in peace.
There is an interesting article about Frank on the Museum of Checkers site under "ARTICLES".

Message from Lindus Edwards:

I would be grateful if you could post the following few words on the ACF Forum about my old friend, Frank Bednall:

I met Frank in 1973 at the Scottish Open in Dumfries, Scotland, and we became instant friends, remaining so until his sad passing last week. Frank's greatest achievement was in winning the British Postal Championship some years ago, although he did win the Lancashire Championship more times than any other player. I am heartbroken at the passing of my great and loyal friend. RIP dear friend. Lindus Edwards.
