A good friend to me and the first person from the checker community to reach out to me some 20+ years ago. Will miss and always remember him.

RIP Mr. Checkers, Don Deweber promoted the Grand Old Game in a fun and positive light to the general public for many years. What he did was the very definition of "a labor of love." He is up there in the Great Checkers Lounge, and his legacy lives on down here.

I communicated with Mr. Checkers for years and considered him to be a friend.
He promoted checkers most of his life and was a very interesting man.
RIP Don. You will be missed.
