I'm very pleased to say that with today's column (2024-12-07) the Checker Maven webzine completes 20 years of weekly publication. I'm appreciative to everyone who has read and continues to read the column.
I plan to carry on as long as health permits. I won't try to guess how long that might be, but with any luck there will be more checker problems and more stories about Marvin, Sal, Tommy, and all of the others. I do try to do my part to popularize checkers and present it to the general public in an entertaining and appealing manner.
Again, a big 'mahalo' to everyone in the community.

Re: Checker Maven - 20 Years
20 years of THE CHECKER MAVEN webzine on the World Wide Web with a weekly feature is indeed a remarkable accomplishment! Editor-in-Chief Bob Newell has presented the checkers community with a variety of news items, interviews, mystery stories, the Detroit Doublejumpers, and the Beacon Cafe. And of course the checkers problems, Bob has a deft way of matching fine checkers problems with the features and stories! The 20th Anniversary issue (12/07/24) features a charming checkers problem by the late great Ed Atkinson. After 20 years, THE CHECKER MAVEN is still the go to place on the WWW for all things checkers!
