In Chess, Magnus Carlsen of Norway won the inaugural Sinquefield Cup that was held from September 9 to September 15

Re: Interesting Match Ups
Carlsen beat Anand 6.5 to 3.5 in ten games to become Chess World Champion. I found out during the
course of the Chess WCM that the Sinquefield Cup in Saint Louis was Carlsen's first tournament in the USA.
