Richard Pask's Complete Checkers: Insights

Post by chipschap »

We are pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Complete Checkers: Insights, a revised and edited single-volume compendium of all five parts of Richard Pask's "Logical Checkers" series, which was previously issued as separate ebooks.

The print edition of Insights is huge. It's 630 double column pages, in an oversize 8"x10" trade paperback format, and contains 1,024 diagrams. The print book weighs 3 pounds (1.8 kg)!

We're selling the print edition through Amazon outlets worldwide, at a price set only to attempt to recover our costs. The electronic PDF edition is of course available to anyone, anywhere, completely free of charge as a download from the checkermaven.com site. We only ask that you not redistribute the book as we prefer that it be downloaded from our site.

This edition was a year in the making and was the toughest editing and typesetting challenge I've ever taken on, but that is dwarfed by the years that Grandmaster Pask put into the creation of this incredible book, reflecting the lore of centuries of checker practice combined with his own unique insights and lucid teaching.

It is our fond wish that the book pleases, educates, and entertains everyone in the checker community. Thank you Mr. Pask!

Thank you so much Bob for the incredible job you have done. When I see the finished product I still can't really believe it!

Thank you also to those who have sent so many kind comments about the Logical Checkers series and CC:I. Particular thanks to GMs Moiseyev and Docherty. Everybody likes to be appreciated - and I am certainly no exception!

On this topic, any positive, insightful reviews of Checkers for the Novice or CC: Insights on Amazon would very much be appreciated. This is definitely not a book which has been developed to make a profit - rather to make the general public more aware of our great game, so positive feedback helps!

Keep the faith! Our game can be great again.
