Complete Checkers: Insights and Repertoire 2nd editions

Post by chipschap »

The 2nd editions of Richard Pask's monumental works, Complete Checkers: Insights and Complete Checkers: Repertoire are now available for free download on the Richard Pask page at checkermaven.com. The books are also available in print editions at amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, etc.

There really isn't a need to buy another print copy if you already have one (unless you wish to!). The changes to both books are not enormous and consist of some corrections and a small amount of revised play. Download the free PDF and see if you want a new print copy.

That said, purchase of print copies do support the project as we investigate the possibility of an eventual set of hardcover editions (not soon, not guaranteed but we are hopeful).

I think some hard cover editions would be most welcomed in the future :).

I am showing the UK editions as updated when I look on amazon.co.uk using a UK shipping address. It may be listed as "unavailable" due to your being in Ireland. You would have to ask Amazon about it. This is odd as there have been sales in Ireland of the first edition.

I see. I thought they weren’t updated because of the dates at the top. I will contact Amazon and see what they say

I've started on them. As it requires complete reformatting of both books, it is going to take about a year as I can't work on it full time. But hopefully I will succeed and it will be worth it. Of course they will be more expensive than the trade paper editions.
