Howard is selling off his father's fine collection of checker literature. His father (Abe) knew many of the great checker players of the past personally and Tommy Wiswell visited their home often for dinner. The ACM is one of my favorite pieces of checker literature because of its human factor and it was more down to earth--it (like Draughts World and Elam's Checkerboard) had much more than checker play in it.
