Considering John Reade's post and my reply thereto, Liam, I would have to say that your W.H. Auden quote is hugely appropriate... ."This proverb has proved true,
Since Eve went out with Adam:
For idle hands
And hearts and minds
The Devil finds
A work to do, ......
............"
W. H. Auden.

Ah, well, Liam, Eliot was born in born in St. Louis, Missouri, you see, so when you combine the initial of his first name with those of his birth place, see, it all, you know, works out...perfectly...T.S.L.liam stephens wrote:Wow Gary!! - obviously that Lelliot was a man of many talents.
Liam.
There you have it.
What more proof do you need?
Works for me.

Gary, you've convinced me!
I have reserved a slice of humble pie and a bottle of wine for later.
(to be shared with J R of course)
"So long as we're able and wine's on the table,
Who cares what the troubling day is at ?"

A rope walks into a bar.
Bartender sez, we don't allow ropes in here, pal.
Rope sez, but I'm not a rope.
Bartender sez, you're not a rope??
Rope sez, no, I'm a frayed knot.
(We used to have W.H. Auden quotes in this thread... . Sigh...).

JohnAcker wrote:Jay (or other interested parties), have you thought about scanning these old bulletins into PDF format? I suspect that various ACFB editors have data copies of more recent bulletins-- I've been getting mine electronically for a while now-- but it would be a fairly straightforward archival project, and depending on the content the ACF might be willing to release the scanned files into the public domain.
JohnAcker....
No, I have not thought about it before...but, I am now.....!!
Contact the ACF EC ....probe their thoughts.......I have what might be a complete set of ACFB.........(not sure, I have to go through page by page to see what I actually have).
I would also require a little tutoring on utilizing the PDF format......never worked with it before.
I believe, as it seems you do also, that the ACFB should be archived on-line,for individual perusal .

Yeah, sorry, Jay, the humor (?) was really, really lame and I did hijack your thread (but it looks like we're back on track thanks to John Acker, good lad that he is).![]()
