Hello Checker/Draughts Players :
In my mail today arrived Tommy's hardbound book (expertly done) with a lovely dust cover as his latest update of his important CANNING'S COMPILATIONS . This latest book contains the " Unbarred Openings " and has 150 pages printed both sides in easy to read bold print , plus 265 diagrammed positions !! Any of you planning on entering the ACF's 3-Mover next year NEEDS this book for study. Tommy's book also contains photos of his late friend Mr. Sean Carlin, Mac Banks, Mr. Alex, Mrs. Kim Willis, and others as an added bonus. In his book Tommy uses various colored ink to hi-lite lines, etc. The diagrams are crisp and inserted at critical points on the various lines of play off the 12 openings.
You can contact Tommy at: cancar25@hotmail.com for pricing/shipping details to all points of the globe.
I highly recommend Tommy's book as a valuable study tool or a welcome addition to your Checker library or both ! " Knowledge is Power "

Thanks Alan.............glad your book arrived safely. In this 2nd Edition ive tried to cover alot more lines and situations and have "set out" the play much more clearly. It is a learning process and i hope this satisfies the expert reader.

Re: Canning's Compilation 2nd. Edition
It seems like ACF Store still has only 1st edition for sale - 80 pages and less number of diagrams. When 2nd edition of "Canning Compilations" will be available in Store ?
I am playing checkers, not chess.

Re: Canning's Compilation 2nd. Edition
Charles Walker wanted to me pass along the following message regarding 2009 ICHF annual magazine (which covers 2008 events):
"[Deloris] hopes to have it done and ready for distribution by Oct 10th. Due to the delay and economy this edition will be $20 USA $25 overseas. Please advertise it in the ACF and on other websites if you don't mind."
Magazines can be ordered via International Checker Hall of Fame, Post Office Box 365, Petal, MS 39465
I am currently awaiting a further book description for both this annual and for Canning's Compilation, 2nd edition. (I must say that I learned a lot on the new openings from the 1st edition of Tommy's book!) Then I will have Jason post new Paypal entries within ACF Store for both these books.
The ACF Store/Periodicals page still has the 2007/2008 (combined years) ICHF annual for sale, and the 2009 version will go here.
