IN Open in Amish County.

Post by Alex_Moiseyev »

Today I had received an invitation email to play in IN Open 2009 and "preliminary" accepted this offer. I am seriously considering to be there if nothing special happened. I asked Mr. Roger Blaine to find for me a room companion for night Friday-Saturday but if there is anyone here in forum who can share room with with me - let me know. Smoking person is preferrable but not required

I learned earlier an unfortunate news that VA Open this year disappear and I need somne replacement for my practice before upcoming WCM.

I'll be very glad to see there all my old friends and new ones from Amish County - as more as better !

Regards,

Here is a link to the VA Open... http://www.nccheckers.org/NCCA/2009%20Virginia%20Ty.htm It will be a good tournament with 25 entrants or better. I personally put this information in the ACF calendar and some how it keeps disappearing????? this the third time and I give up... My original post was early in February or March of 2009 so everyone would know our date and not encroach on it...

Webster, Laverty, Holder, T Stanley, B. Staney, Salot, Ross, Atkins, A Davis, McClintock, B Smith, JR Smith, Vic Habgood, K Burks, Ron Bailey, McClellen, P Heavener, Taylor brothers, Ted Williamson, J Richardson, possibly Jasmine Jones, Ken Shultz etc. about the same group that will play D4 in Lexington in November.

Do you have access to ACF site to update this info "in first hands" ? If not - Jason should probably give you an access.

I had an administrator key to make updates & corrections to ACF forum calendar and sever others that's in the menue, but all that was on my PC which has crashed. Same with Dave Butler's data files going back to start of the ACF Rating system, history of the system he wrote, latest source date files coded "T" format but never updated, his rating program (I forgot the file extention but it wasnt exe) and I could never get it to run, or open. You ask about this and I didn't answer because my PC was sick and I could not excess these files. They are still there but I can't get to them. Dave did not send me the source code to his program he wrote to do his ratings, just the program. I don't know language, because it was all new to me at the time and I was into learning the rating system and algorithm, or trying to understand the different formulas. Didn't think to ask. I would think it would be very helpful if Eric contacted Dave. Dave is a plesant person to discuss this topic with and will help anyone who should endeaver the task. I did notice Richard has already coded National for WCDF and it is same format that Dave's system used. I don't know if he did this by hand or maybe his SwissPerfect compiled it. I was accumulating current past tournament so I could run an update when I found out I couldn't open his program. All this is out now because it may be lost.

I have switched to my laptop since my pc has a virus. I knew better but I thought Kim was sending me a file of some type. From vicomoma@yahoo.com or something like that. When I clicked on it, it put a virus that looked a lot like the anti-virus of 2009 and then started a MSN update which hung up system. When I started to reboot I found out this thing locked me out of my MSN OS and won't open windows. After several tries and then I find out I can't boot for CD either or when I try to use my repair cd it goes down to where it locks me out of Windows and freezes there. I tried 5-6 different versions of XP Home and Pro... none would get pass this lock out. All I can do then is up plug or cut off the machine. I got several friends that know a lot more than I do and they can't do anything either. I've finally decided to pull my hd and slave it to another pc and copy off my data files using a special OS designed to extract date from a hd. I will burn cds so when I restore Windows I can download these data files. More practicle would be to make another hd. I'm sure glad I had another computer with Front Page and a backup of my website. I could not have kept it up with out this little laptop. I will naturally lose all the email under jrsmith2@triad.rr.com which I know many have send me since September 30. I got the virus Saturday nite, we drove back last Saturday and I was reading emails and going to update web with National results. Probably bad idea since I was tired and not think straight. Wow I clicked on this crazy email that was a link or looked like a file and bam! I stepped in a pile of poo. So if you have send me something and I didn't respond then you need to re-send it. They are there but I can't open windows on my PC and get it. I most likely will lose all these email when I do restore windows. I've been messing with this thing since last Sunday (over a full week). I took off several anti-virus 2008 on several friends machines but I can't get this thing to release my os so I can do something. Short story... please re-send me what ever you have emailed me since September 30, 2009 to jrsmithnccheckers@gmail.com Any and all pictures you took at National. Thank you in advance. BTW, I did see an alert on the ACF forum, but after I already stepped in the poo. I have how got FastTech working on it. I gave up, I got a spair drive with Windows XP Pro and it open correctly then when I added old drive it when back to freeze problem, then when I disconnected the old hard drive and tried to run the XP hd it wouldn't work with either. I ran both these on a different PC, now I'm thinking something is wrong with mb, bios, or ram and it deeper than the hd, since I can open on another PC with the same HDs. Maybe the tech can figure it out... you can tell I'm screw up by me ranting away, because it got the best of me! JR
