2010 Tennessee Open Checker Tournament

Hello Checker/Draughts Players:

In my mail today received a letter from Frank Davis that I will quote :

" The Tennessee State Checker Tournament will be held on March 5-7 , 2010, at the Americas Best Value Inn and Suites, in Lebanon, Tennessee. The Inn is located on Highway 231 ( 822 Cumberland Street), near I-40 (take exit 238 North ). The tournament consists of three divisions. Two rounds will be played on Friday, foru on Saturday , and two on Sunday. Registration will begin at 1 PM followed by a business meeting at 3 PM. Play will start at 4 PM on Friday and end on Sunday at 1 PM. The room rates will be $42.00 plus tax. For reservations , call 1-615-449-5781 and them them you are a checker player. Please make reservations early. For more information, call Frank Davis 1-931-552-4246.

I disagree with Mr. Ryan on this matter: all these thoughts - loser excuses and loser psychology.
I am playing checkers, not chess.

Well, this is coming from a GrandMaster. He never went into a game thinking he was going to lose, he was just implying that even if he lost..he sometime showed better virtues than his opponent. Everyone has there opinion....

i think it means the tactics involved in trying not to lose and the desperation perhaps trying to escape
opening the mind as much as the skill involved in not getting into such a situation
